Washington Post: Israeli army fans out into cities after deadly Palestinian attacks
JERUSALEM — The Israeli army fanned out across major cities Wednesday to help police counter a wave of Palestinian attacks that have left the country deeply shaken, and police said they foiled an attempted stabbing assault on security forces, killing the assailant.
No Israelis were wounded in the incident outside Jerusalem’s Old City, police said, and no details of the alleged attacker’s identity were immediately provided. It was the type of ambush-style attack that has prompted Israel to begin deploying the army.
