NBC: Terror on a Shoestring: Paris Attacks Likely Cost $10,000 or Less
The multi-pronged ISIS attack on Paris may have been sophisticated and shattering — but it wasn't expensive.
The entire operation likely didn't cost more than $10,000 when weapons, explosives, housing and transportation are factored in, NBC News has learned.
"I would note that although the attacks were coordinated, the actual method was basic bombs and guns," one senior counterterrorism official said.
A second counterterrorism official agreed that the attacks could have been carried out for little more than the price of an Hermes bag.
"That number does not seem implausible," he said of the $10,000 estimate, adding that the AK-47s bought on the black market would have been the biggest expense.
WNU Editor: And it would not surprise me if the cost to respond to it .... and the economic impact from it .... will be in the billions.

I think it's time we stop calling these people and their attacks "sophisticated". It's hardly takes a "mastermind" to give a few radicals some guns and turn them loose on a crowd.
They are "sophisticated", because of the nature and purpose of their attacks.
They targetted a "grey zone" to prompt a backlash against Muslims and Refugees, and they got exactly that,

They knew exactly what they were doing and the results they wanted to get. They understand the nature of the society they are attacking and the dominant ideology. It's a form of judo using the enemy's own weight of panic mongering, hysteria, racism, militarism, double dealing (which these troglodytes are a product of) and economic irresponsibility against them. It's like the demon in Blatty's "The Exorcist" which constantly drew upon the weaknesses of the priests to attack them.
Every time they push a button they get a reaction that makes things worse for us. It's been a long while since we've had an enemy cynical enough to know us so well; that's what makes them oh so dangerous.
