Algemeiner: Report: Israel Estimates Massive Hezbollah Losses in Syria

Israeli officials estimate that one third of Hezbollah’s active fighters have been killed or wounded in the Syrian civil war, Israeli news site Walla reported on Tuesday.

According to the report, based on anonymous sources, between 1,300 and 1,500 Hezbollah fighters have been killed in combat in Syria, and an additional 5,000 have been wounded and are out of commission. Although Hezbollah — designated by the US and Israel as a terrorist group — is not open about its armed strength, some estimates say it could have up to 18,000 full-time and volunteers troops.

WNU Editor: I am not surprised by these numbers .... Hezbollah fighters have been on the front-lines ... especially in the past year. And as for the future ... the Syrian war is a meat grinder .... hundreds of thousands have been killed .... and there is little if any signs that the war is going to end soon.

The war has morphed into a free for all for terrorist groups and their international backers.

Hezbollah is tough on defense in their backyard and especially with prepared defenses. Israel found that out.

On offense they bleed like anyone else.

WW1 left quite a mark in the culture f France and other countries. It affected the art and the rest of the culture. Society was in shock.

I wonder what happens in Lebanon in future years?

It might not be enough to shock a Muslim society, but if the losses continue something will have to give.
