Mirror: Inside enormous 'ghost mall' modelled on the Pentagon that is now completely abandoned
The 70-acre site was erected to be a cathedral of commerce but the strange design has left shop owners baffled and staying away
A giant shopping mall taking up 500,000 square metres and designed to be a copy of the Pentagon in the US has been left virtually abandoned.
These incredible shots show the Pentagonal Mall, around three times the size of Bluewater in Kent.
It was erected in China's largest city Shanghai but it's been left largely vacant by shop owners who find its design 'too confusing'.
It's only slightly smaller than the largest shopping mall in the world, the Dubai Mall in the United Arab Emirates.

The Chinese discovered that the Pentagon is difficult to navigate? I could have told them that.
