Iran releases videos of drone surveillance of US carrier
Iran claimed Friday it flew a surveillance drone over a U.S. aircraft carrier and took "precise" photographs as part of an ongoing naval drill, as Iranian TV broadcasted video purportedly showing the incident.
The U.S. Navy confirmed to Fox News that an unarmed Iranian drone flew “directly over” the USS Harry Truman earlier this month on Jan. 12, but did not say whether it was the same incident.
That happened on the same day Iran captured 10 U.S. Navy sailors accused of "trespassing." It also was less than a week before the U.S. and European nations lifted sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program, but months after their initial deal was signed.

I know let ask Russia to help us stop the Iranian from picking on us.
It's okay, the Navy is spying on the drone feed, so they get a free view of their ship.
Regarding the Iranian sub tracking the carrier, probably so are multiple Iran missile artillery fire control centers. This is a guarantee that no hostilities would ever start while a carrier is in the Gulf.

As long as Iran has Russia supporting them. There's little we can really do, as Russia is the most powerful country in the world militarily.
Some type of trade may be possible. Perhaps we can support Russia's position in Eastern Europe and Ukraine. In exchange, we can procure their assistance with Iran.
That certainly seems a better strategy than what we currently have. Some details would need to be worked out. Such as how can we be sure Russia will actually follow through on their end of any deal we make. It does seem clear that as long as Iran has Russian support there is no way for us to effectively stop Iran from "picking on us" as you put it.
At some point, they are going to hurt us very, very badly and as long as they have Russian support we aren't going to be able to respond in a manner that would make them regret such an action. As such, "asking Russia" for help may not be such a bad idea.
Another step that might be taken is to redeploy American military assets away from the Persian Gulf to positions off of America's coasts and along its borders. This would at least give us a fighting chance to defend the American mainland.
The u.s sunk a frigate and crippled another without russian intervention.
You could sink another couple of their junk frigates and the russians would be happy to get the resupply contract.
