Washington Free Beacon: Clinton Considered Secret Plan to Spark Palestinian Protests
Wanted billionaires to donate fortune to Palestinians
Former secretary of state Hillary Clinton considered a secret plan created by her then-advisers to foment unrest among Palestinian citizens and spark protests in order to push the Israeli government
back to the negotiating table, according to emails released as part of the investigation into the Democratic presidential frontrunner’s private email server.
In a Dec, 18, 2011, email, former U.S. ambassador to Israel Thomas Pickering suggested that Clinton consider a plan to restart then-stalled peace negotiations by kickstarting Palestinian demonstrations against Israel.
Pickering described the effort as a potential “game changer in the region,” recommending that the United States undertake a clandestine campaign to generate unrest. Clinton requested that his email be printed.
“What will change the situation is a major effort to use non-violent protests and demonstrations to put peace back in the center of people’s aspirations as well as their thoughts, and use that to influence the political leadership,” Pickering wrote.
WNU Editor: I am "floored" that Hillary Clinton gave the A-OK to have this email posted publicly .... it looks like she is throwing her former advisers under the bus. And while there has not been much coverage of this story .... my guess is because it is more than 4 years old .... the idea that senior US State Department officials were offering a plan to destabilize Israel .... a plan that would have meant many injuries and deaths .... leaves me speechless. If this is how the U.S. treats an ally .... I will let you (the reader) figure out how they would treat an enemy.

We shouldn't be surprised by anything that comes out from that old warmongering skanks mouth and she has a shot at being the president .. ffs
I am also shocked at this. This is some old school Real Politik.
This is the same individual who got Chritopher Stevens killed as she connived, while Secretary of State, to run weapons through the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi to Syria. The thing is, IMO she's no more or less unscrupulous, cynical, malicious, mendacious, rabidly aggressive, amoral and downright mean than not a few of her predecessors. She's par for the course and fits right in. Why anyone is surprised is beyond me.
When she makes President we'll really see the beast unleashed.

"If this is how the U.S. treats an ally .... I will let you (the reader) figure out how they would treat an enemy". → It happens everywhere, with anyone
WNU Editor,
After the First Infantada, which did pressure Israel back to the negotiating table, due to outside pressure and economic losses in the Occupied Territories,
Israel divorced it's economy from the Occupied Territories and barred migrant Palistinian labour.
Every Palistinian "uprising" and unrest since then, most famously the Second Infantada, has hardened Israel's refusal to allow a Palistinian Nation or a Peace Process.
This has been well known and publically stated by actual ME experts since the early '00's, and is common knowledge.
If anything, this highlights Hillary and her "advisor's"'( the "ususal" mix of Neocon's and neolib's) utter disconnect from reality and the world as it is today. Too many NYT and WaPo Op eds.
Sadly, none of the other US cantidates are any better, or have better advisors.
Thekey word--neglected by Clinton biased haters--is "considered." Yep. and then rejected. It is smart to consider all option, ideas, when confronting an issue.
Exactly Fred. That is what I meant that she "threw her former advisers under the bus". But this is more of an indictment of the U.S. State Department itself .... and how they process what needs to be done. And while options are always considered, the fact that this one was considered seriously (by the ambassador himself) is what should raise everyone's eyebrows.
Fred,
There are stupid questions, stupid answers, and stupid options, that need not be considered.
