Politico: Rubio: Law-abiding undocumented immigrants could stay
Sen. Marco Rubio says people who immigrated to the U.S. illegally but haven't committed any major crimes could be allowed to stay.
In an interview airing Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press," the Florida Republican contender for the presidency said felons shouldn't be allowed to stay, but those who commit lesser crimes could still qualify. He didn't specify if the people allowed to stay would ever be able to become citizens.
"If you're a criminal alien, no, you can't stay. If you're someone that hasn't been here for a very long time, you can't stay," he said. "I don't think you're gonna round up and deport 12 million people."

WNU Editor: I have always liked U.S. Senator Marco Rubio .... even telling a foreign policy group in Russia after he had won his US Senate seat that on my short list of future leaders he has a good chance of becoming President of the United States one day. But on this one issue .... being blunt as he is .... he has just officially lost the nomination to the U.S. Republican party for President.

I could vote for amnesty.
But only after an effective border fence is built and the 40% who overstay the visas are dealt with.
The John McShame, Lindsey Gramnesty, Jeb Bush wing if the Republican party used to lie to their bases and say they would build the wall before or at the same time as amnesty.
Now they do not even bother lying.
There is no secret as to why Carson, Cruz and Trump have done well early on.
I am the child of an immigrant and the spouse of one. The thing is that they were legal immigrants with skills.
It is high time for the base to divorce itself from the country club wing of the Republican party.
The clubbers can try poaching from the Democrat base.
Anybody will do much better than Bernie communist Sanders or Hillary criminal Clinton at this point.
Personally I like somebody like Rand Paul .
Want to stop mass illegal migration? Abrogate NAFTA and end the dumping of subsidized U.S. produce into Mexico. Grabbing the CIA by the scruff of the neck regarding its involvement in the drugs and weapons trade would help too.
