Bill Gertz, Washington Free Beacon: China Warns U.S. After Trump Wins Nevada Caucus

Trump has promised to punish Chinese currency manipulation.

China warned the United States on Wednesday not to adopt punitive currency policies that could disrupt U.S.-China relations after Donald Trump’s win in the Nevada caucus.

I am not sure why the US would have such a massive disparity in trade relations with a bellicose country that is entirely misaligned with our values, and is on course to usurp us militarily within 25-35 years at most. Eliminate the potential for an adversary early on by keeping it in its place, especially if you are in a default position to do so. No sense in giving a country like that all the tools to be our competition in the near future and eventually undermine the existing international order that we have tried so hard to create; which by the way is the most peaceful and prosperous that it has ever been in history.
