Reuters: North Korean rocket puts object into space, angers neighbors, U.S.

North Korea launched a long-range rocket on Sunday carrying what it called a satellite, but its neighbors and the United States denounced the launch as a missile test, conducted in defiance of U.N. sanctions and just weeks after a nuclear bomb test.

The U.S. Strategic Command said it had detected a missile entering space, and South Korea's military said the rocket had put an object into orbit.

North Korea said the launch of the satellite Kwangmyongsong-4, named after late leader Kim Jong Il, was a "complete success" and it was making a polar orbit of Earth every 94 minutes. The launch order was given by his son, leader Kim Jong Un, who is believed to be 33 years old.

There is a dangerous red crescent that has developed in the Northern Hemisphere. All modern societies, advanced civilizations are imminently strike able by this Communist multi nation nuclear menace. I have a strong feeling, that the Cabal between Russia, China, North Korea and Iran will be effective and sets up a credible devastating nuclear or conventional first strike on the critical backbone open and liberal societies which protect the wider status quo nation state structure. With missiles coming from all directions undersea, land, maritime and spacein the N. Hemisphere, it is unlikely that all important national defense infrastructure targets could be protected. Think, Brussels, London, Paris, Tokyo, Seoul, Okinawa, Guam, Hawaii,, over the artic, etc. this group would have no qualms about a first strike at a moment of their choosing.
My problem is why are we not taking a stronger position while this crescent is taking final shape? Are position only weakens.
