Three British Special Forces soldiers were wounded in a firefight with 30 ISIS militants in Iraq, it has been reported.
The SAS and SBS are said to have been on a secret mission deep inside enemy territory when the terrorists opened fire on them with machine guns mounted on American-built Humvees.
The men's bravery has not been acknowledged because defence chiefs refuse to confirm the ground war being fought by elite British troops in war ravaged Iraq and Syria, it is claimed.

Somebody on the inside probably dropped a dime on them.
Doubt it l remember when an entire squad was captured by tongan army reservists a decade ago during war games
fazman,
I hadn't heard about that. But you might be right. For these kinda guys to get into such a bad situation usually means someone gave them up (my supposition) or they were stupid. Tongan reservists!?!? really! Oooh, I bet some chewing was involved.
Fazman
We need details....Por favor!
I will try and find something but it was a l think at least 10 years ago.yes it was very embarressing for thise concerned.
Sorry guys l cant find anything on it it was actually the 90 s and involved aust sas. Trust me l couldnt make that shit up lol.
Dont forget just a couple of years ago didnt the syrian army capture a couple of sas doing recon near iraq birder.
They must stand out like the proverbial amongst locals in their land rovers.
I have absolutely no doubt that the incident mentioned did occur. If this occured in the 90s, that is literally a lifetime ago. I also have little doubt about the operation a couple of years ago.
If this is a "war game", it seems it would be problematic to draw any conclusions from this without an understanding of the parameters set by the planners, the "gamers" if one will.
I've long known the US is heavily infilitrated with moles at all levels. It seems reasonable to suspect that US "allies" would face the same problem. As such, it's not hard to imagine someone "dropping a dime" on these people.
Even ambushed, the SAS/SBS suffered no killed and wiped out all 30 of their ambushers (if this article is to be believed). Impressive save in a shitty situation.
