The Western economy is a key underlying target in attacks like the one that the Islamic State perpetrated in Brussels.
Every European who flies frequently knows the airport in Zaventem, has spent time in the ticketing area that was strewn with blood, limbs, broken glass, battered luggage and other wreckage.

When Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab snuck explosives hidden in his underwear onto a flight on Christmas Day 2009, he ushered in full-body scans and intrusive pat-downs.

I would add, in all honesty. If as reported, President Putin, by plan, instigated and exacerbated the rush of refugees out of the way of his indiscriminate bombing ,in Syria, and on to Turkey, Greece and Europe. If this is so, than in the short term in Europe, his military intervention has largely allowed the inflow of false documented jihadists (600) back into Europe to do economic and violent disruption. A form of Russian warfare on Europe in my opinion. And this is a weapon that can't be withdrawn by him. Indiscriminate. So he in fact has helped the jihadist in a significant way, while publicly fainting the opposite.
The flood of refugee's into Europe, started in the summer of 2013, roughly 25% from Lybia, * ( broken and rendered ungovernable by NATO), roughly 25% from Lebanon, and roughly 50%, from Turkey, two years before Russia intervened in Syria.
In 2014, the flood doubled, with roughly 10% coming from Lybia, 10% coming from Lebanon, and 80% coming from Turkey.
In the summer of 2015, before Russia intervened in Syria, the flood of refugee's doubled again, this time with roughly 5% coming from Lybia, 5% coming from Lebanon and 90% coming from Turkey.

A rough break down of the flood of refugees, by country of origin, is as follows,
50% from Syria,
25% from Iraq and Afghanistan,
20% from Bosnia, Kosovo and Albania.
In order for Russia to have "weaponized" the flow of refugee's to Europe, Putin would have had to gained total control of the Governments and Security Forces of Turkey, Lebanon, Lybia, and NATO.
As this is highly improbable, that means that the whole MSM meme of Russia "weaponizing" refugees is Western anti-Russian propaganda aimed at the Sorcha Faal/David Icke/ Jones Conspiracy Theory nutjobs and the mentally incompetent.
