David Corn, Mother Jones: Does Donald Trump Believe Nuclear War Is Inevitable?
The man about to take control of US nukes has a very fatalistic view.
In just seven weeks, a man known for being ill-tempered, thin-skinned, narcissistic, and erratic will take control of the US nuclear arsenal. Donald Trump will have the authority and power to launch any combination of the country's 4,500 nuclear weapons. At any time and for any reason he deems fit, Trump could destroy a nation and, through miscalculation, the world.
During the presidential campaign, he uttered several troubling statements about nuclear arms. At a Republican primary debate, he botched a question about the nuclear triad—America's system of sea-, air-, and land-based nuclear weapons—suggesting he did not understand the most basic information about the structure of the US nuclear command. (He babbled, "For me, nuclear is just the power, the devastation is very important to me.") At other points in the campaign, Trump noted he would support allowing Japan, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia to obtain nuclear weapons and indicated he would be open to using such weapons against ISIS and in other conflicts.

WNU Editor: My read on President-Elect Trump is completely opposite from Mother Jones. The last thing on President-elect Trump's mind right now is the idea of setting into motion a chain of events that will lead to nuclear war. If anything .... I am seeing someone who is enjoying the moment entirely .... who dos not have a fatalistic view of the world .... and is primarily focused on appointing those that he feel will serve him and the country well. And as for all the hand-wringing over his comments on nuclear weapons .... the reality is that it is President Obama who is advocating the largest nuclear arms buildup since the end of the Cold War .... Obama Backs Biggest Nuclear Arms Buildup Since Cold War (Forbes). Where is the outrage on that?

there wont be any outrage because the media at large supports obama's anti-american policies, there is literally nothing obama could do to outrage the media....the complete opposite can be said for pres elect trump, brace yourselves for the media/academia/corporate negative onslaught for the next 4 yrs...
Upgrading the nuclear arsenal is a sound policy. The US doesn't have the conventional abilities of great powers like Russia and China. The US will need to be ready to let loose with a full barrage of nukes at the blink of an eye and these powers need to understand this. This combined with a change of policies that understands the superior position of Russia and China, seeks to add value to them, and a defense posture that would make their inevitable victory pyric enough they wouldn't cinsider the attack in the first place may just be enough to ensure America's survival.
