Singer George Michael Is Dead At 53

Daily Mail: BREAKING NEWS: George Michael dies peacefully at his home in Oxfordshire on Christmas Day, aged 53

* Wham! singer, 53, died at his home in Goring, Oxfordshire this afternoon, his publicist announced
* Popstar Michael had previously fallen ill with pneumonia in 2011 and had battled substance abuse
* However, the medical circumstances around artist's death are yet to be released at this point
* Elton John has led the tributes to the star on social media and called him the 'kindest, most generous soul'

George Michael has died at his home in Oxfordshire.

The musician's publicist said that he had 'passed away peacefully' at his property in Goring at 1.42pm today.

Michael, 53, had previously battled drug addiction. However, the circumstances around his death are currently unknown.

Michael, who was set to release a documentary in 2017, rose to fame as a member of Wham!, known for their hits Club Tropicana and Last Christmas.

The singer - whose real name is Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou - sold more than 100 million albums throughout a career spanning almost four decades.
