This is not the first time China has tried to use rhetoric as a deterrence strategy but it comes as probably the first one that is so specific. Interestingly, this also comes on the back of Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat’s pointed comment on honing India’s Cold Start strategy for Pakistan.
Does the Chinese state TV’s statement come as nothing more than a deterrence tool, or are the claims viable?

I do not know about the border between China and India from Bhutan to Burma. Borders in previous centuries or ethnic groups.
Barring that there is no reason China and India cannot get a long.
The other border between China and India near Pakistan is pure shit. the air is thin and it is cold.
The 2 countries can make it a 'nature ' preserve. If there are any minerals that are 'needed' they could form a joint mining company.

48 hours?.....Why not 48 minutes or seconds?
If China continues it's naval/island base expansion south and west with the aim of a semi continuous linkup to their nascent East African bases, they will have put India in semi sea and land isolation.
Rome wanted commercial access to India without going through Parthia or Sassanid Persia.
So the Romans took the Red Sea / Indian ocean route.
Having failed to conquer Yemen and South Arabia, it was strenuous to control the SLOC.
I think they had a base at Aden for a while. There were Roman at Socotra. Rome had conquered mecca and medina, but 1/2 the army had died to poor logistic and poor understanding of desert warfare.
The Roman eventually sent missionaries to Ethiopia and let their new allies patrol the Red Sea.
China could ally with India and let India secure their southern flank and SLOC through the Indian ocean.
