WNU Editor: This is just one more reason why the border will need to be secured. Hat tip to SHTFplan.com for this story.

"Mexico has a lot of negotiating chips in this matter, Fareed, but it also has measures we could take in other areas. For example, the drugs that come through Mexico from South America, or the drugs that are produced here in Mexico all go to the United States. This is not our problem. We have been cooperating with the United States for many years on these issues because they’ve asked us to and because we have a friendly, trustful relationship. If that relationship disappears, the reasons for cooperation also disappear."

Cooperation is a two way street. Seem's some have forgotten that.

Mexico's "drug problem" is an insatiable US demand for illegal drugs to get high with.

If Mexico legalizes the drug trade, Mexico won't have a problem any more.

Only the US will.

Legalizing drugs in Mexico would simply mean drug gangs there could continue to do what they have been doing for years with no need to worry about paying off political figures and the police. Business as usual. And the notion that a wall would keep drugs out is very naive.

Naw, Fred, they'd Incorporate, sell shares on Wall Street, the "turf wars" would disappear to be replaced with market share.

1) The text books of Mexico are as bad as the textbooks of Saudi Arabia.

2) Mexico in no way prevents immigrants crossing their southern border and going to the U.S.

3) Mexico has little control outside the major cities.

4) Mexico has declining oil profits, they are becoming Venezuela. they had one recent find, but for the most part their national oil company is moribund.

Mexico is threatening to do what it already does. So really they have not 'extra' credible threat despite what the uber liberal JabberJay says./
