* Obama is said to have notified Congress that he intends to release 18 more Guantanamo Bay inmates – nearly one-third of the remaining total
* Nations including Italy, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are set to take them
* Obama vowed in 2008 to close Gitmo but he hasn't been able to follow through
President-elect Donald Trump left no doubt on Tuesday where he stands on President Barack Obama's nine-year-old pledge to shutter the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
'There should be no further releases from Gitmo,' Trump tweeted, referring to the island detention facility by its nickname.
'These are extremely dangerous people and should not be allowed back onto the battlefield.'
Gitmo is home to a dwindling number of terror suspects, most of whom have been deemed too great a risk to relocate to other countries.
