Washington Post: Trump turns Mar-a-Lago Club terrace into open-air situation room
It was Saturday night, and Palm Beach’s tony Mar-a-Lago Club was packed. There was a wedding reception in the ballroom. There was a full house for dinner on the terrace.
And at one table on the terrace, there was the president and the leader of a major U.S. ally, hashing out a national security problem in the open air.
“Someone opened up a laptop, and at the table . . . a group of Japanese people stood around the prime minister and Donald, and they were all looking at the laptop,” said Jay Weitzman, a member of President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club and founder of the Pennsylvania-based parking management company Park America. He was sitting three tables away from Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Saturday evening.
“Whoa,” Weitzman remembered thinking. “What’s going on?”
“Turns out, it was a missile launch,” he said Monday.

WNU Editor: This is wrong on so many levels that I do not know where to begin. Mar-a-Lao has a secured room for President Trump, he should have gotten up with the Japanese PM and they should have used it instead of discussing it in the open as they did .... Trump's Mar-a-Lago Has a Secure Room? Great! Then Use It (WIRED).
Update: The White House is saying that nothing sensitive was discussed at the table .... and that the secured room was actually used twice for briefing President Trump on the North Korean missile launch.... Trump Was Briefed In Secure Facility At Mar-A-Lago (CNN).

Quiet today, many of "The Ususal Suspects" are "missing",
http://digbysblog.blogspot.ca/2017/02/the-spigot-of-lies.html?m=1
This Flynn thing looks like an unforced error. Either he doesn't remember or he lied. The notion that he doesn't remember seems unlikely. If so, he's a complete idiot. As such, he likely lied. Since you can't or shouldn't be able to lie to Congress, the VP, and POTUS he obviously had to be fired.
They should have just said that yes sanctions were discussed. If I'm POTUS elect, I want my selected national aecurity advisor to be discussing such things with the Russian Ambassador and I want my positions to be made clear to the ambassador so that their is no confusion. As such, there seems no reason to have lied.
Funny thing is, none of the 4 FISA Warrants are for Flynn.
LMAO.

Thanks for the link Jay. I checked it out. Very respectfully not much there but a great deal of speculation. Obviously Mr. Flynn was terminated either because he lied or was so incomptent he doesn't remember. There was no reason for anyone to lie. To say this is an unforced error, is an understatement.
If an incoming official is unable to discuss policies with foreign leaders, this could lead to disaster on a number of levels. Of course they discussed sanctions!!
Now as for the 4 FISA warrants, the youtube video doesn't tell us much. If soneone was trying to go around the current insanity of certain US government officials to try and end Cold Wzr 2, this soneone or some people may well be patriots and perhaps should be treated accordingly and shown the same respect. Being patriotic sometimes means making very difficult decisions.
All of America's disputes with Russia serm easily solvable. At this point, no one has yet to demonstrate why they are worth Cold War 2 to challenge Russia on any of them.
LMFAO,
The You tube video is the full length copy of the 1962 film, The Manchurian Cantidate,
http://m.imdb.com/title/tt0056218/
I must have pulled up the worong one. I pulled up one dated 2-10 that essentially confirmed Flynn would be terminated and specifically mentioned four FISA warrants without naming names. Needless to say none of them were Mr Flynn.
Time permitting I shall watch the Manchurian Candidate but don't have much time to watch movies. As I understand it, a Manchurian Candidate acts against the national intetest. Improving relations with Russia is firmly in America's interest. As such, a person acting in such a way would hardly serm to qualify as a Manchurian Candidate.
The Russians aren't harrassing US merchant shipping nor are they putting nuclear missles in Cuba or they wouldn't be if America hadn't stupidly meddled in Russian business it didn't understand.
If the "Manchurian Candidate" can end such foolishness, then by all means bring on the "Manchurian Candidate!!"
If Western Europe wants Cold War 2, by all means GO FOR IT!! Leave us OUT OF IT!! I REALLY, REALLY don't think dear old Ukraine or anything in Eastern Europe is worth that. This is no laughing matter.
As the editor posted, the Russians did not react kindly to Mr. Flynn's departure. I'm forced to ask if Mr. Putin would tolerate someone is his inner circle who lied to him or was so incomptent to forget such important details. Of course we discussed sanctions!! An incoming US official would be negligent not to discuss such an important issue with the Rusdian Ambassador and the Rusian Ambassador would be negligent not to bring it up!!
With that said this is an unforced error or at least appears to be at this juncture. This is the kind of error humans routinely make, no malice is intended, no deliberate harm done, and in such case mercy is often warranted. By firing Mr. Flynn so quickly Mr. Trump "the deal maker" may have demonstrated to the Russians that he is a complete and total wimp who is not to be trusted and is NOT someone they can negotiate with. After all what manner of person throws their friends under the wheels of a fast moving bus while caving to their enemies? They may conclude we aren't to be trusted and move to finish us off. As I've pointed out, the Russians aren't going to strive with us forever.
Now if this is an enemy of America, it would serm Congress didn't do their job either. Of course incompetence on the part of the US government has come to be expected.
Doesn't matter if nothing 'sensitive' was discussed or shown on the laptop (of which I'm sure there were sensitive discussions) at the end of the day, perception is important in politics.
And it does not look good, especially for Trump who grilled Hillary on those confidential email leaks.
Given the nature of the situation with North Korea and the fact that their actions could commit us to hot war with North Korea as much discussion of this in public as can be done should be done. As such, assuming sensitive items that need to ve kept top secret were discussed in a secure environment this really no problem here that I can see. The fact that he didn't panic and run away may actually be a good thing.
As of now, I haven't seen where the Japanese delegation had a problem with the arrangement. The US government has pretty much always had a problem with security. The Japanese are obsessed with security. Then again they are always looking for ways to hurt the Americans. In any dvent, if someobe messed up, expect more resignings/firings. At least we know the media will keep close tabs on team Trump.
