National Security Adviser Michael Flynn Has Resigned

NBC: Michael Flynn Resigns as National Security Adviser

Michael Flynn abruptly resigned as President Donald Trump's national security adviser Monday night, hours after it was learned that the Justice Department informed the White House that it believed he could be subject to blackmail.

Retired Army Gen. Keith Kellogg, a top policy adviser for Trump's presidential campaign, was appointed acting national security adviser, the White House said in a statement announcing Flynn's replacement.

Kellogg, 72, a former commander of the fabled 82nd Airborne Division, was chief operating officer of the Western coalition in Baghdad, Iraq, after the U.S.-led invasion in 2003. A senior administration official told NBC News that Kellogg was under consideration for the permanent job, along with retired Navy Vice Adm. Robert Harward, former deputy commander of U.S. Joint Forces Command, and former CIA Director David Petraeus.

Three senior U.S. officials told NBC News that Harward was considered the favorite for the job.

: As I had mentioned in a previous post .... people come and go in government, and he will not be the last. But if you lie to the Vice President .... and if the Justice Department believes that you can be subject to blackmail .... your time is up. My own take on his resignation is that it is unfortunate. His approach towards Russia .... as well as strongly believing that the U.S. intelligence community needed to be shaken up .... were two issues that I strongly agreed with him. Now that he is gone .... I doubt that his replacement will have the same focus.

So is this something more concerning than the clothing line push or the missed handshake...it just reads across the MSM as any other blockbuster story about Trump that we are inundated with on a daily basis. It's a funny situation the media has created for itself...expect it to get much worse.

Petraeus will need permission from his Parole Officer to take the job.

If it gets worse, it is because the new administration makes it worse. You seem to want us, like Trump, to think all is well but the media makes crap up about his and his administration

The administration must also accept the fact that the media spotlight will be far more intense on them than during the Obama administration. DNI Chief James Clapper lied to Congress .... but he stayed in his job and the media did not make a big deal of it. And then there is the previous National Security Adviser Susan Rice who spawn the Benghazi video story ... even though that was a lie. I personally like it when the media does its job .... which is why I condemned them repeatedly on their coverage of President Obama. As for the present .... this resignation is a heads-up call to everyone in the current administration .... their standards have to be higher than the previous administration's .... so do not f____-up.
