Brazil's Former President Lula Has Been Given A Nine-And-A-Half Year Jail Term For Corruption

Bloomberg: Brazil's Lula Sentenced to Prison on Corruption Charges

* Former president sentenced to 9.5 years by Judge Sergio Moro
* Conviction could dash Lula’s bid to run for president in 2018

The judge has not asked for the former president’s immediate arrest. Lula’s lawyers could not be reached for comment.

Not a good day.

Sure he is a Leftist.

But can we not have at least some Leftists of sterling character?

However, I hope his successor, Dilma (she who grew up with 3 servants), get 18 or 27 years. She is a spoiled brat and always was.

Still I regard Dilma as more knowledgeable than Obama due to her political experience in Porto Alegre.
