U.S. Senator John McCain: 'I Regret Voting For Rex Tillerson As Secretary Of State'

Reuters: Two senior Republican senators criticize Tillerson comments on Russia

Two senior Republican U.S. senators criticized Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Sunday for saying that Russia may have the "right approach" on Syria and for what they called his lack of focus on Afghanistan and Pakistan.

"His statements about Syria really disturb me. No, (Russian President Vladimir) Putin does not have it right when it comes to Syria," Senator Lindsey Graham said.

In separate television interviews, Graham and Senator John McCain, prominent Republican foreign policy voices, took aim at Tillerson's remarks last week that Russia may have "got the right approach" and the United States the wrong approach to Syria.

Update #2: McCain Blasts Tillerson for Suggesting Russia Could Have ‘Right Approach’ in Syria (Washington Free Beacon)

WNU editor: Senator McCain still has trouble accepting the idea that Donald Trump was elected President .... and that President Trump's policies on what to do in places like Syria are markedly different from what Senator McCain wants the U.S. to do. As to what is my take .... in regards to Syria, Senator McCain`s approach is a guarantee for more war, and a greater U.S. military commitment in that quagmire.

I respect Sen McCain's service and scrifuce. Butt he's a political disaster. A 30 year career of political Schizophrenia. All centered around

The sanctimonious morality. the sooner he is retired from the senate the better.

I don't understand McCain either. It's better to make an agreement with Russia with a claim for controlling Iran in this era and especially being the locker on the road "Mediterranean Sea-Persian Gulf".
We are wasting money, time and lives in Syria.

McCain is no different than Hillary. Old and corrupt. Keating Five. Lost to Obama. Dementia setting in. Libya. Syria. Iraq. Afgahnisatan. Arizona has got themselves a dandy.

You do not have to like the senator and you can be critical of him, but to dismiss him as having dementia is stupid. He is 80; Trump is 71...and I am 88...We old people may not be as agile as we were once were, but why be so dismissive when you merely point to what gets said, what does not ring the bell as smartor wise? After all, you do not like Obama but you do not say he is insane, demented, or paranoid. You simply disagree with what he says or does.
Do you have medical evidence of Dementia?

McCain actually fought in a war and was tortured and then went on to continue civil service. Yes, he's old - we'll all be if we are lucky enough - and he may be wrong sometimes, but he's not a liar and cheater like Clinton who a) lied that she landed under sniper fire b) played the sex card many many times to get her way c) accepted town hall questions ahead of debates by people working for CNN - and never apologised for it (Cnn also didn't, they just quietly fired that other lady).. sure mcCain like Clinton. ..are you crazy? To kick a man like him around just because he's getting senile is just showing what kind of person you are.

Fred..I agree. Also, if McCain gets senile shouldn't be a major issue - everyone does eventually get senile - nothing wrong with it. That other anonymous accused him of being corrupt and "old". What a crime. To have survived a war - in which he actually fought - and then be called out on his age. Unbelievable.
