Myanmar's Aung San Suu Kyi Says World Misinformed About Rohingya Crisis. Denounces 'Terrorists' But Is Silent On Exodus

ABC News Online: Myanmar's Aung San Suu Kyi denounces 'terrorists', silent on Rohingya exodus

Myanmar's Aung San Suu Kyi has blamed "terrorists" for "a huge iceberg of misinformation" on the violence in Rakhine state, but made no mention of the nearly 125,000 Rohingya Muslims who have recently fled over the border to Bangladesh.

The leader of the Buddhist-majority country has come under pressure from countries with Muslim populations over the crisis, and United Nations secretary-general Antonio Guterres warned of the risk of ethnic cleansing and regional destabilisation.

In a rare letter expressing concern that the violence that has raged for nearly two weeks in the north-eastern state could spiral into a "humanitarian catastrophe", Mr Guterres urged the UN Security Council to press for restraint and calm.

The non-Muslims leaving Bangladesh due to persecution, general mayhem and murder can be replaced by the Rohingya.

The Non-Muslims can go to India or Burma.

The social justice warriors can live with the 'good' people and we will see how long they last.

Super cool that the lady complicit in ethnic cleansing has a Nobel Peace Prize. They're really good at handing those out.

Anon,

All you look at is the refugee flows.
This is the last act.

So many action came before this. You have no ideal there was a guerilla war going on. The Western press never informed you or you did not want to know or do not care.

It is like ignoring the 1936 March into the Rhineland, the 1938 Anschluss and then in 1939 "What? War? Why?"

You also ignored all the diplomacy going on before WW2. Hungary, Romania and Yugoslavia were German allies. Britain flipped Yugoslavia and saved the Soviet Union a whole lot of grief. Mussolini flipped Greece into the Allied camp. Hitler was courting Metaxas, which may or may not have worked. Hitler was not genius, but he was no dummy. All this political intrigue was going on and each one was a balloon going up. Yet the press did not accurately report it.

Take Thailand. Muslim terrorists have been blowing things up and shooting non- Muslim civilians for 2 decades. Do you know about it? I bet you gut wrenchingly complain about it if there are refugee flows into Malaysia?

Do you know how 15% of the population in Malaysia are treated like 2nd class citizens?
How would you like to perform a white collar job and have your "shadow" reap greater rewards from it, your work?

I do not think you know too much.

1) If Kyi was working with Kofi Anan, will the AP apologize?
2) There is a nice picture of foreign funded militants

I counted at least 31. They had at least 4 light machineguns.

"In a Thursday appearance on France 24, Clapp said that Kyi had been working with a United Nations commission led by former Secretary General Kofi Annan on peace efforts in the region. According to Clapp, the recent large-scale attacks by foreign-funded Islamic terrorist groups targeting Myanmar's security forces, which sparked the current crisis, were purposefully timed to derail those efforts"
