Former President Karzai Blames The U.S. For The Rise Of ISIS

Khamma Press: Karzai accuses US of aiding the ISIS militants in Afghanistan

The former Afghan President Hamid Karzai has accused the US forces in Afghanistan for aiding the loyalists of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group.

In an interview with the Russia Today and in response to a question whether there was any suspicion that the US was aiding ISIS group, Karzai said “I have more than suspicions.”

However, he said reports regarding the alleged support to ISIS by the US forces are still unconfirmed.

Karzai said he had heard reports, albeit unconfirmed, that the IS was being supplied with helicopters.

The former President further added “How unmarked non-military colour helicopters supply these people, not only in one part of the country but in many regions.”

“And this is a daily occurrence,” he said, claiming that the terror group has been able to spread its tentacles in the country just under the nose of the US forces and the CIA.

Fact is, if the US had never invaded and occupied Iraq, there never would've been an ISIS. the US wars in the region created the conditions for the rise of ISIS. The so-called war on terror, instead of defeating terrorism, has made the problem much worse. THis is a reality, however, that few seem to want to accept.

Carl,

You make the assumption that Sadam Hussein would not have fallen.

You also make the assumption that Sadam could have done something worse than what he did.
1) Invade Iran
2) Gas the Kurds
3) Invade Kuwait

About 2 years ago it came out that Obama lied about the SOFA negotiations. The plan was to have a fire brigade of 10,000 U.S. troops to back up the Iraqi army. The Iraqis are not cowards. However the conditions were set for defeat, when Malaki corrupted the military and destroyed the parliament. Malaki did indeed destroy the Iraqi parliament.

Malaki set the conditions for ISIS rise. He stoked Sunni grievances when the went after the Sunni VP. He corrupted the IA with his political appointments. Then IA was corrupt when 800 militia can take Mosul from ten times their number. ISIS traveled to Mosul. the word went out. The generals fled. The troops said "WTF" and fled too.

This laid at the feet of Malaki and Obama. If Obama had treated Malaki like Bush had, Malaki and everyone one else would have been better for it. Obama should have 'held' Malaki's hand (i.e. reassured him). Bush did and you don't see Malaki going after the Sunni VP.

I understand why Malaki acts the way he does given his history.

- The 1st failure was Obama's
- The 2nd failure was Malaki's
- Then we got ISIS.
