BBC: Clooney donates $1m to fight war criminals
Hollywood actor George Clooney has given $1m (£750,000) to The Sentry campaign group to investigate people who finance and benefit from conflict in Africa.
In a statement, he said:
Our focus is to make sure that war crimes don’t pay. We want to make it more difficult for those willing to kill en masse to secure their political and economic objectives.
When we’re able to go after the warlords’ wallets and bankrupt those who choose the bullet over the ballot, suddenly the incentives are for peace, not war; transparency, not corruption.”
This doesn't come completely out-of-the-blue, as the actor has involved himself in African politics before.

WNU Editor: It is a small amount to fight a massive problem .... but symbolically it is huge .... and it will an impact. No respectable individual/company/bank wants to be linked to a war criminal .... especially in the West.

Clooney is tired of all negative headlines about him, since his best friend up until now, has been weinstein.
Looks like Bush snr is in trouble now
It is a diversion.
If Clooney wanted to help, he could finance some people to take out the Lord's Resistance Army & Kony.
If that rat bastard Kony was dead, it might be easier to bring peace and prosperity to that part of Africa.
Clooney is facing into the wind and letting rip is all.
Clooney cried about Darfur
Hollywood ha d convulsion over Kony in 2012.
So Clooney is going to donate 1 million. Big Whup!
1 Million dollars might make a company here or there uncomfortable. There have been procedures put in place for conflict diamonds or so we are told.
In the meantime ISIS is going to rip out the heart of Africa starting in Katanga and your average tard could not find it or Jadotsville on a map.
Maybe the UN 'Peacekeeping' personnel can hand over their rape victims to ISIS fighters personally so there is no gap in atrocities. That would be thoughtful of them.
Is Mr. Cloonacy going to bother the dynasties in Zimbabwe or Angola?
If Clooney was not good looking, he would still be rolling cigars.
"Dang, Clooney donated a whole million? Guess I better surrender to the Hague now," said no war criminal ever.
There must be some multi-sylabbic, German word for useless gestures designed to distract from real issues and buy public favor cheap all without breaking a real sweat.

Very nicely put.
Kony probably does 1 million dollars of damage a month.
Where is Kony BTW?
I thought Obama was going to get him.
Oh right, yeah Obama, LOL!
Kony versus Clooney
Who will do more to affect the fate of Africa?
Kony, hands down.
