The U.S.- China Spy War Is Getting Hot

Politico: U.S.-China spy games flare

A focus on Russia overshadows Beijing's aggressive tactics, including the kidnapping of a suspected American operative.

The sun was setting over Chengdu when they grabbed the American.

It was January 2016. The U.S. official had been working out of the American consulate in the central Chinese metropolis of more than 10 million. He may not have seen the plainclothes Chinese security services coming before they jumped him. In seconds he was grabbed off the Chengdu street and thrown into a waiting van.

The Chinese officials drove their captive — whom they believed to be a CIA officer — to a security facility where he was interrogated for hours, and, according to one U.S. official, filmed confessing to unspecified acts of treachery on behalf of the U.S. government.

It wasn’t until the early morning hours of the following day that other U.S. officials — who were not immediately informed by their Chinese counterparts of the consular official’s capture — arrived to rescue him. He was eventually released back to their custody and soon evacuated from the country.

WNU Editor: The above Politico article claims that China is not following Russia's aggressive moves on influencing U.S. elections ....

.... Some officials and China experts said Beijing uses a softer touch in its espionage. Where Moscow stomps, Beijing tiptoes — focusing heavily on the theft of economic secrets and making no known effort to influence U.S. electoral politics.

Are you kidding me?!?!?!?! No known effort!?!?!?!?!

The Russians are pikers when compared to the Chinese in influencing U.S. elections, and the Chinese are not even hiding it anymore. This started with China-Gate in 1996 (see link here), and one can only imagine what they are doing now .... Chinese Money Flowing Into U.S. Elections Highlights Importance of Disclosure and FEC Enforcement (The Campaign Legal Center). Russia is alleged to spend a hundred thousand dollars to buy political ads on Facebook and Twitter .... and the net result is that we have Congressional hearings and investigations, politicians and the media screaming Russian political interference, and sanctions levied on Russia. And while all of this is happening, we learn that China funnelled $1.3 million to Jeb Bush's super-pac during the primaries (link here) .... and God only knows how much money they poured into the Clinton Foundation and for Democrat candidates .... Donor to Clinton Foundation, McAuliffe caught up in Chinese cash-for-votes scandal (Washington Post) .... but there is not even a whimper. Double standard and hypocrisy at play .... you betcha.

Yeah and within 5 minutes people will forget about it...

add to that trillions in industrial espionage the Chinese are doing

add to that the support of the North Korean regime and supply of crucial military supplies and hardware (including the mobile rocket launchers AND rocket fuel!)

add to that we do not get to access the Chinese market in a fair manner - 20% of the world economy is operating under entirely different rules than we have to - again trillions stolen

this has to stop. the Chinese need to stop yesterday.
