What Do U.S. Soldiers Think Of President Trump

Military Times: Military Times Poll: What you really think about Trump

President Donald Trump enjoys far stronger support among members of the military than the American public at large, according to the latest scientific Military Times poll.

Yet while Trump is especially popular among enlisted troops, officers have a much lower opinion of him.

And women and minorities in the ranks share similar skepticism.

Overall, about 44 percent of all troops surveyed in the Military Times poll have a favorable view of Trump, while roughly 40 percent have an unfavorable opinion of him. That’s a stark contrast to opinion polls of the general public, which have shown Trump’s popularity at less than 40 percent and an unfavorable rating as high as 56 percent.

Trump is braggadocious. Yes, he is.

You would think many officers would see a kindred spirit. Many of them are hard to take.
My theory on some of them is that they would be psychologically squished, if they didn't have those rough edges (e.g. pilots).

Yes, Trump is boastful, but that boastfulness is part and parcel of the ego that makes him a fighter. It is some thing that he has more of than Jeb or that Jeb Bush lacks (or does Jeb lack honesty or intellect, when it comes to illegal immigration?).

More officers and enlisted will come around, when they see that Trump has their back.

When Trump was a cadet, I would have hated his smarmy ass, but it doesn't matter. It is transactional.

What is he going to do to the economy?
What is he going to do about illegal immigration?
etc.

He is going for it and all I see is RINOs and Dhims standing in his way.

enlisted mean nearly always go along with a president in power, and now, with a regular army, we have mostly the high school grads only, and they make up the base of the Trump party among the non military. That said: who cares? why not ask how postal workers feel about this or that president?

"As a whole, the U.S. military is far better educated than the American population it defends. 82.8% of U.S. military officers in 2010 had at least a bachelor’s degree, compared to 29.9 percent of the general population. 93.6% of enlisted soldiers had at least a high school diploma, compared to 59.5% of America.

I think some comments here more properly belong to a Wild West site like Yahoo. Although Yahoo is somewhat tamer now. I think some people here attempt stand-up comedy.
