Daily Mail: Did gambling debts drive Las Vegas gunman to madness? Multimillionaire real estate investor was 'hooked on video poker and blew $10,000 a day in the weeks before massacre'
* Stephen Paddock, 64, seemed like an ordinary man until his Sunday killing spree
* The real estate head had no mental illnesses or notable affiliations, family said
* But he was a gambling addict who played slots and high-stakes video poker
* He got the rare 'seven-star' high-roller rating in Caesar's Entertainment casinos
* And the Atlantis in Reno once gave his entire family the top floors to enjoy
* In the weeks before his killing spree he blew tens of thousands of dollars
* Some days he spent more than $30,000 in a single casino, legal filings show
* It's not yet known whether he had accrued any debt that pushed him to madness
Police investigating Stephen Paddock's murder spree in Las Vegas on Sunday face a perplexing question: What drove this seemingly ordinary ex-accountant to kill 59 people and injure 527 more?
With no criminal convictions - or even parking tickets - to his name, no history of mental illness and no clear political or religious affiliations, Paddock seems like an ordinary, quietly prosperous real estate speculator.
But he did have one dark side: A gambling obsession that saw him splashing tens of thousands of dollars in Vegas casinos in the weeks before his murder-suicide spree.
Could this have driven Paddock to madness and ultimately murder?

WNU Editor: All those who knew Stephen Paddock are saying that he had no political or religious views. For me that is very strange .... I have never met anyone in my life who did not have an opinion .... especially on politics and religion. There are many other aspects of this case that are also "strange", and one can only hope that the investigation will reveal more details on who this insane killer was, and what motivated him to do what he did.

I agree, something doesn't add up...
The girlfriend/roommate should be able to give a little more insight into this guy, his family didn't seem very close to him.
Not buying that report for a minute. His motives and background are likely to be politically inconvenient for the Left. Hence the dearth of ANY information on this monster.
You can bet if he was a Trump backer, his life would be on full display.
Sir--
Everything thus far known about this guy is in all the media, including right wing media...your implication is directly tin foil hat stuff...He was an accountant, a high stakes gambler, a gun nut, etc. My guess would be that he would fit a right of center perspective, but no known political information has thus far been found, nor is there any evidence that anything is being covered up. To assert such nonsense is laughable.
He definitely picked a conservative heavy event to attack.
Anon
the shooter lived not that far from the hotel
the shooter spent endless days gambling at that hotel
the shooter had a girlfriend who lived in that city
the shooter used the hotel as his bunker to kill
he did not choose the venue because it was right wing, ie, with many country music fans in attendance.
If you have evidence otherwise, please post or stop with the nutty
accusations.
even the FBI is stymied by his reason. I do not think you know better

Supposedly, he was in a feminist protest.

I cannot tell. I do not consider myself very good with faces. Those with software and those in the know probably will not tell.
If you have his street address and his birthdate, you can find out is voter registration.
He picked a soft target at a opportune time.

Country and Western Music isn't "conservative" heavy anymore.
You could be right Jay, but CNN and the other good Liberals think otherwise

Time will tell, Fred. But I think my scenario will pan out to be the accurate one.
@ Aizino:
Yeah, those pics are circulating along with some youtube video of the guy in a pink NASA shirt and a Pink p---y hat/cap.
Billboard doesn't, and Billboard knows music.
Rolling Stone doesn't either, not do the Grammy's.
Snopes is garbage. I use to used a decade ago, but they are garbage now. Snopes should have labeled the case unproven. Instead they labeled it false.
The pix look different in the nose and the beard. True, a beard could be trimmed, but Paddock never seemed to favor a thick/full beard in the pictures I have seen. the nose seem to be different. The in the pussy hat has a smooth flat sided nose.
Pamela Geller has all the right enemies. No problems there.
some folks so anxious to continue the Us versus Them that they are unable to abide the fact that the guy might have gone off his rocker. the problem is that he has carefully planned this. If he was against feminism, shooting up this venue and some 58 people dead is hardly clever but if the anti liberal people can pinpoint anything, then they can gloat.
country music? I fell in love with that in 1947-48 at ft dix, new jersey, and I am a connecticut left winger
I don't care what Billboard or Rolling Stone thinks on this particular subject. what matters is what the intelligentsia think.
Anyway the Rolling Stone lost a lawsuit with their fake news and may become a failed paper.

What is important here is how the political & media elite perceive the fans of "Country".
The elite spoke and left no doubt what they think, how they think and how ugly they are.

Veteran who was a neighbor of the alleged shooter called in to The Savage Nation (Michael Savage's) radio show yesterday or today. YouTube video of the call has been removed. Caller was a neighbor & hung out with "shooter" and caller stated this was totally out of character, and theorized that the "shooter" may have been set up - perhaps his body was the one found, but others may have been the shooters...
48 guns so far,
Some witnesses said he was verbally abusive to his GF in public.
Sadly, domestic abuse has a large amount of commonality with mass shooters.

A very good friend of mine recently retired as a social worker/therapist/psychiatrist .... he specifically worked with individuals who suffered from serious psychological problems/disorders. I will never forget what he told me once .... in his opinion a third of all human beings are insane, but what keeps them in line are the rules (and enforcement) that society imposes on these individuals. When this order breaks down .... as we see in war zones .... these individuals are unleashed, and when that happens it is very hard to instill that order back. In the case of Stephen Paddock something unleashed his demons .... something broke that order .... who knows what that is, but I suspect that with time a better understanding on what made this man plan this atrocity and then act upon will be posted. But something happened to this guy to make him build a huge gun collection, and to then plan and act this atrocity. This was building up for a very long time.
Some reports have his "gun collection" starting in California, continueing in Florida, Idaho, Alaska, Nevada,
Yet his Brother say's he never shot a gun.

No social media presence, neighbor's said "they" kept to themselves,
There's a lot of weirdness there.
I think the in room footage that the shooter left behind puts aside any conspiracy theory.
"Some witnesses said he was verbally abusive to his GF in public."
Do not deny it.
But it is weird that he denigrates her and yet wires $100,000.
