Newsweek: Will Kim Jong Un Be Assassinated? A Bookmaker Is Taking Bets on How the North Korean Leader Will be Removed From Power

An Irish bookmaker is offering odds on how North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will be removed from office. At 1-10, the favorite according to Irish bookmakers Paddy Power is Kim’s life coming to an end, with other options including Kim being overthrown in a coup at 8-1 and resigning at 5-1.

Bookies don’t believe 33-year-old Kim is likely to be removed from power soon though, with the odds of him remaining in power until 2031 standing at 4-7.

Trump and Kim exchanged insults during Trump’s 12 day tour of Asia last week, and the North Korean leader proclaimed that Trump had been “sentenced to death” by the Korean people.

I thought he bragged that his military has orders to launch attacks if he is killed. If so, an assassination or even and failed attempt could be very counter productive, even if it is successful.

Kim more likely to die from morbid obesity due to consuming quadruple rations while his countrymen starve..a compelling figure...tall as he is wide...hairdo and all...Trump also obese and hairdo obsessed...both men must spend a lot of time admiring themselves in the mirror

It's about this:

If China decides that their gamble to prep up his regime is not worth it, THEN and only then will he be removed. He is a puppet of China. Do you really, really believe this guy, not even 30, runs North Korea, while we are supposed to believe a very very angry, upset, multi-trillion China, soon to be #1 in the world, cannot stop him? Yeah, right

They don't want to stop him at the moment. He made money for them, AND there is a chance he might - in his death - send a few nukes to the US. Now that is literally worth TRILLIONS to China.

Chinese will sell everything for money, and sure as hell they will sell Americans down the road.

My personal favourite would be if the people of North Korea get to decide his faith. Ideally a slow death. Slowly being boiled in a public place for everyone to watch and then fed to dogs or something like that :) this guy caused so much misery, I hope he'll get to see his end coming and that it'll be 10x more miserable than what he did to his half brother or generals or the entire north Korean population. Infecting him with parasites and leaving him to rot in prison for a few months would also be high on my list. .ahhhh so many great choices.

But then again. Likely he'll just be shot by a bodyguard that turned against him, and dies on the spot. Too easy of a death for a guy like him

Bob.. that might be so. But there's few people in the world that I think deserve/deserved to die ..
Hitler
Baghdadi (isis)
Stalin
Kim-Jong Un

And I honestly don't think people would follow an unpopular dead man's orders. Now the question is: is he popular among those who could actually strike out? I'm sure he's very popular among Chinese leadership because he's their ticket to control of APAC and beyond (north Korea puppet is the Chinese answer to Obama's pivot to Asia..that's why they help him like there's no consequences for their actions).. He may also be popular among some of the population in Pyongyang. .those who get to eat. He certainly is not popular across the entire country. At least if you can believe the many people who fled north Korea and report of mass starvation, poverty, forced labour, concentration camps etc

I think go for it. It's been long enough that China and north Korea mess us around and risk our lives by arming and supporting this guy.

Morally I think inaction is at a point where it's worse than action. We can't just sit by and be blackmailed with nuclear annihilation by a thug just because China supports him and told us not to intervene militarily. F them. They made so much money through outright theft from us, and now they even sell the rocket fuel to this guy.

It's over in my book and I do hope trump kills him and tells the Chinese this ends now or we will have that confrontation now, on our terms, rather than in 20 years when they come for us (because they sure as hell will,or do you think it's OK to equip this guy with military equipment while he threatens to nuke us? ?) The Chinese are not or friends at the moment. Behind all that talk and smile they make billions with this guy while they accept people dying and being targeted by him, including us in the west
