BBC: North Korea fires new ballistic missile, South Korea says

North Korea has fired a ballistic missile, South Korean media say, quoting military officials.

The news was confirmed by a US government source, according to Reuters news agency.

South Korean news agency Yonhap reported that the missile flew eastward from Pyongsong in South Pyongan province.

It is not clear how far it went or whether it flew over Japan as other missiles did earlier this year.

Demonstrations serve to distract and/or serve to show your will.

People who show lack of will are attacked just like in the animal world.

Time for talking is almost up

Jay Farquharson said...

Time for talking was over in 2003 when the US Republican's killed the Agreed Framework.

The US made it very clear that the US would never honour any treaty or agreement with North Korea or allow any 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th party to the agreement to act as a guarantee.

Now that the NORK's have a truely global ICBM, and minaturized nukes, all they need apparently, is a reentry vehicle,

And then, theydon't need any kinda deal.

The North Koreans never stopped cheating.

Jay just try for one day to be an honest person.

"April 1, 2002: President Bush issues a memorandum stating that he will not certify North Korea's compliance with the Agreed Framework. However, for national security considerations, Bush waives applicable U.S. law prohibiting Washington from funding KEDO, allowing the United States to continue financially supporting the Agreed Framework.

October 16, 2002: The United States announces that North Korea admitted to having a clandestine program to enrich uranium for nuclear weapons after James Kelly, assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific affairs, confronted representatives from Pyongyang during an October 3-5 visit. Kelly later explained that the North Korean admission came the day after he informed them that the United States was aware of the program. North Korea has denied several times that it admitted to having this program.

November 14, 2002: KEDO announces that it is suspending heavy-fuel oil deliveries to North Korea in response to Pyongyang's October 4 acknowledgement that it has a uranium-enrichment program. The last shipment reached North Korea November 18."

"Then intelligence agencies determined that North Korea was cheating on the agreement by trying to develop nuclear material through another method — highly enriched uranium. The Bush administration sent an envoy who confronted North Korea — and the regime was said to have belligerently confirmed it in 2002," - WaPo

You probably havn't noticed still,

The World doesn't believe US "claims" regarding all forms of WMD, anymore.

That's why the R+5 Agreement with Iran works. When the US lies, yet again, Germany, France, Iran, China, Russia and UNAEC call bullshit.

I quoted from the liberal WaPo and from armscontrol.org.

Citing ran about the agreement is like citing a fox guarding a hen house.

China and Russia are anti-American

That leaves France and Germany.

France has always been obstinate. Look at it s dealings with NATO. The last French PM was more concerned with being with his mistress and opinion polls than international relations.

Merkel is as smart as Theresa May. That is to say she is not. She is a manager not a leader. Both PM made the same mistake in their hubris to call elections. They made the same mistake by downplaying Islamic terrorism, calling elections and then terrorists do what terrorists do. They kill people. So now both PMs are dealing with diminishing power.

The French and German leaders wanted the agreement so their 'corporations ' can freely deal with Tehran.

And here is our very own Jay shilling for Tehran, which has its infamous prison. Normally Jay would pro forma rail against such things, but not here. Interesting.
