CTV News: Top Liberal Party fundraiser, 3 former PMs named in Paradise Papers

Liberal Party fundraiser Stephen R. Bronfman, Queen Elizabeth II, and several of U.S. President Donald Trump’s allies are said to be among 120 international figures and companies who have been using offshore tax havens, an international team of journalists has learned.

WNU Editor: Former Canadian Prime Minister Chretien has responded that he has no knowledge of having holdings in a Madagascar oil company as outlined by the Paradise Papers. Former Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin's family company has responded that he has not been involved in the operations of the business for years .... but there is no denial that it is his name on the paperwork that the Paradise Papers have revealed. No comment yet from former Canadian Prime Minister Mulroney who (according to the above CTV report) was a director of Said Holdings Ltd. between 2004 and 2009. The Bermuda-based company is controlled by Syrian-Saudi businessman Wafic Said, and who is said to have had a key role in the multi-billion dollar al-Yamamah “oil-for-arms” deal between the U.K. and Saudi Arabia. A response from Said confirmed Mulroney’s involvement in his family’s investment company, and referred to his “valuable contributions.” There is a Justin Trudeau connection to the Paradise Papers. He is Stephen Bronfman, a close friend as well as chief fund raiser for the Canadian Prime. The embarrassment with this connection is that it flies in the face of Prime Minister Trudeau's policy positions and public rhetoric that people must pay their fair share of taxes.

This is why you have a flat tax and not a regressive tax, which is euphemistically called a progressive tax.

Liberalism looks great on paper, but only when you leave out human psychology.

After 100 years liberals are still faceplanting.
