U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis: ‘I Don’t Have Concerns. I Create Them’

Washington Free Beacon: Mattis: ‘I Don’t Have Concerns. I Create Them’

Secretary of Defense James Mattis on Friday said that in 2018 he will be creating concerns for others rather than having them himself.

Mattis was speaking to reporters at the Pentagon in the afternoon when one of them asked what Mattis' top concern for the year would be. Mattis, however, turned the question around.

"I don't have concerns. I create them," Mattis said, according to multiple reports.

While the statement is neat and I can appreciate it, I think this is just for press consumption. God I hope so!!

There are numerous things around the world that can have a profound effect on American national security that he and America have absolutely no control over. As such, he is in no position to "create" a concern. There are things he needs to be concerned about an prepare for.

I can help him in this area. Will South Korea, Japan, Ukraine, Poland or any number of other "allies" do something to draw us into a war we don't need, can't afford, and lack the resources to prosecute effectively? Can something be done to mitigate this risk?

I hope he is just being a braggart like god:

"I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things." Isaiah 45:7 KJv. (Note: some versions of the Bible don't use the word "evil," for example, replacing it with "calamity."

Disclosure: I'm an atheist.
