Russia is old news. Unfortunately.
The only way for Russia to stay relevant, given its shrinking population and might in the world, is to create more doomsday devices (look, I'm dangerous too!) and invade countries like Syria (which it cannot afford, given that its economy is the size of Italy's). In 20-30 years, its neighbours will come for its vast resources, which it cannot protect - Russia will only have about 80 million people by then but has to defend the largest territory on Earth. How do you do that? Everything AI, right? Yeah, it's just that Russia is falling behind in that race too. So all Putin has left, to stay relevant as a mastermind of world politics (in his head), is to b*tchslap smaller / troubled countries around.. hence Georgia.. hence Ukraine.. hence Syria. It's the hallmark signs of a country that has nowhere to go and doesn't know how to make friends with the only people that would make true friends.
I don't understand Russian's leaders: the best defense they can have for protecting their huge territory is population. Why they don't make a tax break for couple who have children? That's lest costly than nuclear weapons and bring the economy back and make the future of Russia. I must be stupid.
