Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau Says That A NAFTA Deal Is Near

Reuters: NAFTA nations 'moving forward in significant way': Canada's Trudeau

OTTAWA (Reuters) - The United States, Mexico and Canada are “moving forward in a significant way” at talks to modernize the NAFTA trade pact, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Thursday.

Trudeau’s remarks to reporters in Quebec City were the latest in a series of upbeat comments by officials in the three countries about the chances of striking some kind of deal soon on the North American Free Trade Agreement.

“I believe we’re in a moment where we’re moving forward in a significant way. Hopefully there will be some good news coming,” Trudeau said.

“We know these negotiations, there are good moments and there are slower moments. But right now we’re having a very productive moment of engaging with the United States and Mexico,” he added.

Mexican officials say that if enough progress is made, the leaders of the three nations could make an announcement at a regional summit in Peru at the end of next week.

NAFTA was a bad deal for America from the start. Hopefully this really is in the process of getting changed.

I'm a voice for America. Us losing jobs to Mexico so they can sell us their cheap inferior products is simply not the way to go.

As for our economy, while DJT and his team have made good progress with tax cuts and regulatory reform there still is much work to be done. This is a mere down payment of what needs to be done.

"...and worry not a good one." If you count the true unemployment which includes those who have given up and the underemployment the economy is not "good" by any stretch. Were you not living in a bubble and/or being fed talking points, you would be aware of this.

As far as the Russian economy, when the editor visited Russia he described as, while sanctions have hurt, "everyone was working" and combined with low tax rates and a favorable regulatory environment the entrepreneur class was doing well. In America, while there has been moderate improvement here, this is generally not the case. Combine this with Russia's lack of debt and the fact that the sanctions cannot be held in place indefinitely and it appears to me as though the Russian economy is in a better position mid to long range than the American economy is.

There is wealth of information available on the internet that describes the true nature of the US economy. You likely know this and knowing your argument is weak you flail about in desperation trying to discredit by accusing me of being a Russian. Having utterly failed and been destroyed in your arguments its really all you have left. If I were inclined to pity someone, I would actually pity you. I try to empathize with people but cannot relate to the bitterness you appear to hold in your heart. Sad to say it has clouded your judgment.

I don't drink vodka. Again, no sound arguments. By implying that you are insulting me you look to cute. Run off and play now. Forums such as this are primarily for serious people wishing to have serious and frank discussions. You've shown yourself to neither be serious nor do you desire a frank discussion. This would require logical arguments of which you have none. Take life easy and leave the serious issues to people who have the mental facilities of adults.

Perhaps when you are able to overcome your bitterness you will be able to think more clearly. I hope so.
