WNU Editor: This blog predicted on Thursday that after President Trump had cancelled the Singapore Summit that the North Koreans would lift the suspension of relations with South Korea and run to South Korea for support and consultations .... and that South Korean President Moon would grab that opportunity. I am only surprised that they decided to do it this quickly. I am now actually more optimistic that a summit will happen sooner rather than later. I am also sure about one other thing .... the toxic rhetoric from North Korea in the past two weeks is going to disappear, and they will initiate the meeting with the U.S. to discuss the protocols and topics of discussion for a future Trump-Kim summit. I also expect U.S. officials will no longer discuss in public their speculations and conditions on what North Korea should do and offer.

Update: The details of this surprised DMZ meeting will only be made on Sunday, but from what I am reading in South Korea, both leaders basically hammered out the protocols and discussions on what must happen in a Trump-Kim summit. If true .... this is incredibly unusual. This type of work is always delegated to diplomats and the Presidential staff. Never between two leaders that involves a third leader. If I was a betting man .... I would say that the Singapore summit is on.
