Donald Trump today welcomed three Americans imprisoned in North Korea back to the US and said: 'We want to thank Kim Jong Un'.
The US president and his wife Melania arrived at the Andrews Air Base outside Washington at 2am to greet Kim Dong Chul, Kim Hak Song and Tony Kim - and called them 'incredible people'.
In extraordinary scenes, Mr Trump and the First Lady clapped and cheered the men as they walked down the steps onto American soil with their arms in the air and giving triumphant 'V' signs used to signify both peace and victory.

That's actually a very good question. An even better question might be why did Notth Korea release them in the first place? Tremendous progress has been made on the diplomatic front. It wasn't like the US was going to alter things over three prisoners.
As I stated, your question is a good one. While I cannot say with regards to these three, many Americans are attracted to Communism/Socialism. Perhaps this is what drew them there.
What better way for North Korea to sweep its human rights abuses under the carpet by cosying up to Trump administration.
Even the language that Trump uses when making references a previous incident is rather tame in comparison to previous statements.
B. Why release them indeed. Perhaps they are ticking time bombs and don't know it.
