Our United States team has arrived in North Korea to make arrangements for the Summit between Kim Jong Un and myself. I truly believe North Korea has brilliant potential and will be a great economic and financial Nation one day. Kim Jong Un agrees with me on this. It will happen!— Donald J. SCMP: US ambassador to Philippines on special North Korea mission to plan Trump-Kim summit
The talks are expected to continue Monday and Tuesday at the truce village of Panmunjom in the demilitarised zone
US officials have arrived in North Korea to prepare for a proposed summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, which Trump pulled out of last week before reconsidering.
Sung Kim, a former US ambassador to South Korea and former nuclear negotiator with the North, has been called in from his post as envoy to the Philippines to lead the preparations, according to a person familiar with the arrangements.
The talks are expected to continue Monday and Tuesday at the truce village of Panmunjom in the demilitarised zone.
The talks are focused on what would be the substance of a potential summit between Trump and Kim – the issue of North Korea’s nuclear weapons programme.
“I truly believe North Korea has brilliant potential and will be a great economic and financial Nation one day,” Trump said on Twitter.

WNU Editor: This arrangement is definitely more preferable for both the U.S. and North Korea. Going through either China or South Korea to pass their messages was not working .... and in the case of South Korea .... my sense is that both North Korea and the U.S. felt that they were being manipulated by South Korean President Moon. Not surprising .... the South Koreans are now feeling left out, and they want a seat at the table in Singapore .... South Korean officials have said President Moon Jae-in could attend a possible summit between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un. (BBC). My prediction .... the U.S. and North Korea are going to say no .... doubly so if the current talks and discussions between U.S. and North Korean officials go well.

"...felt that they were being manipulated..." while I wouldn't pretend to know the North Koreans feel about it, from an American perspective I would describe the South Korean behavior as "treachery." "Manipulated" just doesn't seem to adequately describe the situation.
While the apparent lessening of tensions, is certainly welcome, a fully successful outcome to this must include a realistic timetable for the redeployment of US military personnel currently in South Korea. I've also suggested that a potential course of action for US officials to persue would be to cut out SK entirely. Once freed of that yoke, negotiations with NK to end our involvement in the Korean Conflict become much easier.
While I am not advocating cutting SK loose at this time, it appears the message has been sent to them that, in the interest of advancing America's just interests, we will consider such options. I appreciate leadership who has such courage. Among US leadership this is often lacking.
I wonder at which hotel they'll stay in Singapore. I'd bet at the St. Regis or Fullerton. Marina Bay Sands feels too touristy and probably too difficult to protect

Вам нужно быть предвечным и сделать наше дело ясным для этих свиней yankee, или вы не получите вознаграждение за этот квартал.
It will be the Shangri la hotel in Singapore. This is where the Shangri la Dialogue was hosted in 2016. Military leaders from around the world attended. The hotel is small enough to protect.
