The Guardian: Pompeo: US firms could invest in North Korea and Kim may get ‘security assurances’
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Sunday that if North Korea agrees to fully dismantle its nuclear weapons program, the Trump administration will allow the American private sector to invest in the country.
Pompeo also hinted that the US might assure Kim Jong-un he can stay in power after any deal.
If a deal is reached at or after the summit meeting between Kim and Trump scheduled for Singapore on 12 June, Pompeo said on Fox News Sunday, “private sector Americans, not the US taxpayer” could “help build out the energy grid that needs enormous amounts of electricity in North Korea”. Americans could also help, he said, with investment in infrastructure and agriculture to help feed the North Korean people.

If Kim looks like he alone would get security guarantees, look for a coup by the NK eiites.
I don't know what was said but this suggestion of Pompeo's that private industry go in and help upgrade NK's capabilities sounds like an experience in the real world Xi would have passed on to Jung recently.
I can see the alarmist headlines and hear the howls of greens when a rejuvenating NK starts building local coal using power plants. All Trump's fault, of course.

The only companies that realistically can take advantage of an opening of NK are chinese ones.US companies might be allowed in but i'm willing to bet that the chinese are the ones who are in a far better position to reap benefits.

Many people originally have come to the Daily Mail (DM) for crime stories. The MSM often refuses to report on the race of the perpetrator with detail such as pictures.
After the Neanderthal MSM learned that people were looking at the name of the perpetrators and figuring it out anyway, they stopped printing that in many cases.
So people have figured out that if the MSM breathelessly reports a name with alacrity, then it was a white guy. It fits the MSMS's confirmation bias and their narrative.
Those are the stories for one that I am talking about.
If the MSM dies not give out the name for 3 or 4 hours then it was a black, Hispanic, or Muslim.
