North Korea Purges Three Top Generals (Updated)

Kim Jong-un has replaced the 'inflexible' officers with men who are seen as being 'loyal to him and no one else', analysts say. Citing an unidentified intelligence official, South Korea's Yonhap news agency said No Kwang Chol (top left), first vice minister of the Ministry of People's Armed Forces, had replaced Pak Yong Sik (bottom left) as defence chief, while chief of the general staff Ri Myong Su (bottom centre) was replaced by his deputy, Ri Yong Gil (top centre). Army General Kim Su Gil (top right) has replaced Kim Jong Gak (bottom right) as director of the KPA's General Political Bureau.
