such good friends

"Such good friends," I find no evidence that they are "friends." With that said I prefer that the leaders America, my country, have cordial relations with powerful foreign leaders that foster an environment where we can work together constructively to solve current challenges. This is certainly a better option than having them as enemies for no good reason.

Essentially certain people went out of their way to foment a new Cold War that we really didn't need, can't readily afford, and there is no guarantee of victory. Team Trump having made tremendous progress on North Korea will now tackle the task of ending Cold War 2 or at the very least the easing of tensions. We should all hope and pray that this effort succeeds.

I am a bit surprised that the parties are moving this quickly. In the case of NK, the issues to be discussed were quite clear and much progress had been made before the summit. In this case, the parties seem far apart and there seems no real progress. Frankly I'm a bit surprised that the Russians would even want to do a summit right now. If I were them, I would have expected more reasonable positions from America than we are currently seeing.

Maybe progress really is being made behind the scenes. After all given the hysterical anti-Russian sentiment that permeates much of the US government these days it is going to be kind of hard for a US leader to publically take a stance that is reasonable with regards to the Russian position.

The fact that the Russians are willing to do this at this time or so it seems is encouraging. I would have expected this to occur after the mid terms when POTUS has a stronger position.

Calm down, comrade.

"Comrade?" I'm assuming you are directing this at,me.

I comment on this site frequently. Had you read my comments in their entirety you'd know I am strongly anti-communism. The comrade slur does not apply.

I reread my post. There isn't anything lacking calmness about it. My post addresses the need for the US to have good relations with major world leaders.

Very respectfully read the posts in their entirety before commenting and carefully evaluate the context. Once you've done this you can then discuss things intelligently. Until you can do this don't waste my time.
