North And South Korean Leaders Agree To Hold A Third Summit In Pyongyang In September

CNN: North and South Korean leaders to meet in Pyongyang in September

Seoul, South Korea (CNN)The leaders of North and South Korea will hold a summit in Pyongyang in September, both countries announced Monday.

It will be the third in-person meeting between South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The two first met in April, pledging to forge closer relations and work to formally end the Korean War in an agreement called the Panmunjom Declaration.

They then held an impromptu meeting in May at the demilitarized zone that divides the two Koreas.

Representatives from the two Koreas announced the September meeting after a round of high-level talks between officials from Pyongyang and Seoul at the DMZ Monday.

Ri Son Gwon, North Korea's point man for inter-Korean relations, told reporters that the date has been set, but would not confirm exactly when in September the meeting would be held.

For what? North Korea will keep stalling and lying. If we are serious about denuclearization, there is, unfortunately, only two ways.. by increasing pressure or by war.. pressure no longer works as China is - again - breaking massively the UN agreed sanctions. So, China is -again- helping a murderous regime to point nuclear warheads at us. It just will have to end and soon, and that China doesn't realize what they are inviting, is really puzzeling.. do they really think Trump will not nuke Kim if necessary? Sure, Trump is actually a man of peace and only wants to look hard and "carry a large stick" (in order to not use it).. BUT.. if he needs to make a point and use the weapons at his hand, to save American lives, he will. Absolutely he will. And Xi better stop his nonsense or get bitchslapped so hard, his ears will be red during the next press conference still

Anonymous' comment should bear the credibility of his reputation. Zilch. Korean conferences which are not railroaded by foreign interference pose the sole possibility of progress. Pressure to change the format should be resisted. No agenda requiring a preplanned result has a reasonable chance of concluding hostilities.
