Times Of Israel: Blaming Assad for downing Russian plane, Israel says it won’t stop Syria strikes
Defense minister says he understands Moscow’s initial anger at Israel, but maintains that ‘irresponsible’ Syria is at fault
Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman on Thursday blamed “irresponsible and unprofessional” Syrian air defense operators for downing a Russian surveillance plane during an Israeli airstrike on Monday night.
Liberman maintained, during an interview on Army Radio, that despite Russia’s ire over the incident, Israel would continue to operate in Syria in order to fight Iran’s activities in the country.

This isn’t that hard to understand. Israel’s survival is at stake as it fights Iran in Syria. Lose and Syria will be Iran’s launching pad for 10’s of thousands of ballistic missiles and hundreds of thousands of troops.
What does Russia have at stake? Just Latakia naval base and there are no threats to it. So Russia stands pat.

All true but isn't it interesting how warfare is occurring over Syria? Quite complex relations and goals all intermixed. Unlike anything other than old world Europe I suppose. How tech is changing war.
Not true...what russia can do is to instal some high tech AA system on syrian land !!!
