The Hill: Trump briefed by CIA chief on Khashoggi killing

President Trump was briefed on Thursday by CIA Director Gina Haspel on the investigation into the death of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, the White House said.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Haspel briefed Trump on her "findings and her discussions" in Turkey, where the CIA chief was on a fact-finding trip. The White House did not provide further details about the meeting.

While in Turkey, Haspel reportedly listened to an audio recording purporting to have captured the interrogation and killing of Khashoggi by Saudi agents inside the country's consulate in Istanbul.

The CIA did not respond to a request for comment.

So what did the Saudi agents ask Kashoggi?

It had to be more than his Washington Post columns.

My guess is he was given a chance to "confess" that all he wrote was a lie, in front of a running camera - he knew they'd kill him right afterwards anyways, so he likely did try to flee. The Saudi Prince was connected via Skype and told him something along the lines of "you're a filthy pig, now I'll watch you die while eating halal KFC" or something like that. I am not too experienced in murder, and haven't watched CSI for a long time, so I'm not even sure if it was KFC or Dominos/Pizza Hut
