Thousands of Central Americans walking through Mexico in a large group in an effort to reach the US have continued on their way after being blocked on a bridge. They may be met by troops at the border.
Mexican federal officers abandoned a blockade they had set up on a bridge in the south of the country on Saturday. Mexico's Human Rights Commission told police that a rural stretch of highway without shade or water was no place to hold talks.
According to organizers, some 5,500 men, women and children are in the caravan, while authorities put the number at 3,630.

We have to separate fact from fiction here. 99% are not being paid. The 1% that does get paid are the traffickers and immigration lawyers at the border inside Mexico. I have seen no evidence that the migrants are being paid. If you do have evidence, post it. But we are doing a disservice to each other by falling for false narratives. There's much to criticise on the left, from the hatred they sew on cnn and blame on us, to their policies. But I don't think nor have seen evidence that they paid anyone in that caravan. Look I support Trump on the border issue, but I just don't see any evidence for money given to them (that was your original point).but if you say they get help, now that's obviously true. I've seen camera footage of Mexican and other nationals giving them food, temporary shelter and even transportation. On that we can agree. And having trekked several hundred miles mysel I can tell you it's entirely possible to do for most fit men - and that's why you see mostly young, fit looking men in that caravan.
