NATO's Biggest Military Exercise Since The End OF The Cold War Begins Tomorrow

RFE: NATO Set To Start 'Biggest Military Exercise Since The End Of The Cold War'

BRUSSELS -- NATO is launching its largest military exercise since the collapse of the Soviet Union, mustering tens of thousands of troops in what the head of the Western alliance called a "strong display" of its capability, unity, and resolve at a time of growing danger in Europe.

"The main phase of exercise Trident Juncture will begin tomorrow in Norway," NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg told a news conference in Brussels on October 24. "This is an important day because Trident Juncture is NATO's biggest exercise since the end of the Cold War."

The drills are drawing criticism from Moscow amid persistent tension between NATO and Russia, which seized Crimea from Ukraine in 2014 and backs separatists in an ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine but accuses the alliance of provocative behavior near its borders.

Nice bridge. Guess what's going to be taken out ala Pearl Harbor. One or two cruise missiles ought to do the job. How many easily blocked pinch points are there?
I can easily see the debacle. Simply look at Ukraine's response to the recent war's beginning in their rush to the front with an armoured column. I hope no one paid the incompetents responsible for THAT demonstration of tactics from decades ago. Here's people that know Russian tactics and Russia's equipment and capabilities and still responded as if they were rushing to head off Guderian last century.
"Well, if all our eggs are in one basket, there's only one target and that's more difficult to find."

The only thing that has changed in that bridge picture is the date on the calendar.
