U.S. To Deploy Thousands Of Soldiers To The Mexican Border

Reuters: Thousands of U.S. troops could be sent to Mexico border: sources

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Thousands of U.S. troops may be headed to the border with Mexico ahead of a caravan of migrants trekking toward the United States, U.S. officials told Reuters on Monday, offering much higher estimates than the 800 to 1,000 initially forecast.

The Pentagon declined comment on potential troop numbers, saying planning was still underway for a mission that risks drawing the U.S. military into a politically charged operation just days ahead of Nov. 6 mid-term congressional elections.

President Donald Trump, who has seized upon the Central American migrant caravan in campaign rallies ahead of the vote, said on Twitter that the military would be waiting for the procession — suggesting a far more direct role in confronting the migrants than U.S. defense officials have previously suggested.

DJT defending the sovereignty of American soil and I BET 100$ RIGHT NOW with anyone eager to lose money, that CNN/MSNBC etc will scream at the top of their lungs how inhumane he is (all while there are already 22 million illegal immigrants in the US), this is just beyond insane. And I say that not even being American, just watching from abroad.. I hope we will never get the equivalent of Democrats in my country

Won't don't you get about the word illegal, perhaps the earth should be one big kibbutz global community with no visa, passports, or identification required.

They would be dumb to try to cross into any state other than California. If they can make it past the Border Patrol/customs controlled areas they are set, no state law enforcement can touch them, nor will they cooperate with ICE...welcome to a sanctuary state!

Bob,

Right on cue. Everything is always the fault of the US. Even if the US has sone culpability, two wrongs don't make a right.

If the US wronged poor weak little Honduras, poor weak little Honduras needs to go bdfore the UN and demand a tribunal. As for anyone who believes Honduras is weak and defenseless, such thinking is naive.

Such a tribunal will simply rubber stamp anything the Honduran government wants. They won't do this. Such a move would mean ending their war with America. They don't want to do this, to much benefit to them.

"Right on cue. Everything is always the fault of the US. Even if the US has sone culpability, two wrongs don't make a right."

1. "Right on cue"

Isn't it a pee off that the history of the US is such that there are soooo many incidents that can be brought up on cue?

2. "two wrongs don't make a right"

That expression was invented by mothers to try and keep their kids from killing each other.

However, when it comes to the wrongdoings of nations it is important that the offenders accept responsibility for their previous heinous actions and for sure do not create that wrong number two as Trump appears to be on track to do. Should he create wrong number two in this case it would give a very strong signal that the US is hopelessly continuing on its downward spiral.
