NATO troops are battling against the elements in Norway as Europe and America hold training drills in extreme weather amid growing threats from Moscow.
Some 50,000 troops, 65 ships and 250 aircraft from the military forces of 31 countries are being deployed in Norway, which shares a border with Russia.
The U.S. troops, many of whom are not accustomed to the cold conditions, bundled up against the cold and wearing thick white boots with one saying it was only their second time seeing snow.

WNU editor: These are not winter exercises. There is very little (if any) snow on the ground, and the temperatures are mostly above zero. If they were serious about winter exercises, they would be doing it in January, and in northern Canada or Alaska.
