Business Insider/Task & Purpose: The Pentagon apparently has more money than it knows what to do with as tens of billions of dollars are getting left unspent
* The Pentagon failed to spend $27.7 billion of the $692 billion defense budget for fiscal year 2018, according to a report from the Department of Defense Inspector General.
* A proposed budget for fiscal year 2020 suggested that the department could receive as much as $750 billion, although it may be harder for the Pentagon to argue for more defense spending given its latest budget blunder.
The Pentagon failed to spend an eye-popping $27.7 billion of the funds it was allocated for fiscal year 2018 even though President Donald Trump intends to give the U.S. military even more taxpayer cash to play with next year.

The swamp is a mess.
I'm actually impressed! Glad to see the Pentagon can budget properly; with changing missions around the world and a large fleet to maintain its good to end in the Black! Can anyone say money for the wall - LOL!
The White House probably won't be happy with an old clip of Donald Trump unearthed by Trevor Noah's Daily Show, one that shows him giving inspirational advice about conquering walls. The 2004 video clip (watch it here) shows Trump giving a commencement address at Staten Island's Wagner College, notes Slate. Trump implores graduates to "never, ever give up," then talks about a metaphorical wall. "If there’s a concrete wall in front of you, go through it. Go over it. Go around it. But get to the other side of that wall." (Trump, more bullish on walls these days, visits the US-Mexico border on Thursday.)
Last anon @ 833 so desperate that he tries to use symbolic speech by Trump and tries to connect it to the wall issue to then tell you that "walls don't work" - you know, the line that parrots on the left were hypnotized to repeat all over.
How the left manages to turn off their brains and repeat in sing-sang "walls don't work" is more fascinating to me than even the most inner secrets of the North Korean regime. Like how the fuck do you turn off your brain like this? We know walls work. We see it every day. Around houses. Around countries. Around companies' grounds. At malls. At construction sides. They work everywhere they are used.
But you march on. You turn off your little brains and repeat every day "walls don't work". Good for you. You march on, under the flag of CNN and repeat HAIL CNN, HAIL PELOSI, my new leaders who think for me who tell me what to say, so I can turn off my brain.
Walls don't work. Omfg.
And you repeat it.
Are you a grown adult or just an idiot?
At least they did NOT spend it. Good sign?
