Reuters: In Cairo, Pompeo blasts Obama's Middle East policies
CAIRO (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Thursday accused Barack Obama of sowing chaos by abandoning the Middle East to Islamist militants and Iranian influence in a blistering critique of the former president’s policies even as Pompeo’s boss, President Donald Trump, moves to pull American troops out of Syria.
In a speech at the American University in Cairo, Pompeo dispensed with a U.S. diplomatic tradition of avoiding public airing abroad of domestic disputes by blasting Obama at the site of a landmark 2009 speech by Trump’s predecessor aimed at improving relations with the Islamic world.

Ok I postulate Bush II Handed Obama a sort of cleaned up mess in the Middle East has Iraq war had swung in our favor with US casualties falling. What did Obama do? Made a worse mess. Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. He handed Teump a worse mess tha he inherited.
So Pompey’s critique is just and correct.
What Victory? Cleaned up mess? JFC. Pompeo's such a fat head he doesn't even know his own country's history. He must not be aware of the Carter Doctrine which specifically stated a shift from offshore balancing to direct intervention to prevent "An attempt by any outside force to gain control of the Persian Gulf region will be regarded as an assault on the vital interests of the United States of America."
America fuc#$d up the ME the last 40 years because it could and it continues to this minute. This speech if just fluff to satisfy the Israelis and Saudis and flatter the senile clown dips$%t he works for. If I was an Iraqi, an Iranian, a Syrian, I'd want to murder every American I could get my hands on. And I'd by justified in doing so.
Your sick and need help. The US has been a steady helping hand since the end of WWI (yes one), and has created many institutions and treaties that are fair and economic stabilizers. Go read some history and quick giving into hate speech.
I love my country, M.F. but presently reading a huge book on the history of Viet Nam and no the U.S. is not always a force for good.
Would be refreshing to hear, learn of present policy rather than comments here and/or by officials about Obama years...that is now some two years agol
