Reuters: Exclusive: U.S. in direct contact with Venezuelan military, urging defections - source

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States is holding direct communications with members of Venezuela’s military urging them to abandon President Nicolas Maduro and is also preparing new sanctions aimed at increasing pressure on him, a senior White House official said.

The Trump administration expects further military defections from Maduro’s side, the official told Reuters in an interview, despite only a few senior officers having done so since opposition leader Juan Guaido declared himself interim president last month, earning the recognition of the United States and dozens of other countries.

So there is no progress with China and north Korea. Clearly China has trained its meddling role with north Korea. I don't blame them, I would consider the same. It's a smart move (well, an obvious one, let's put it this way)..but working with Kim Jong Un - who despite his PR and rebranding push, together with his sister - is still a mass murdering son of a bitch. So China keeps on doing what it's become famous for in this century..a more and more isolated country that itself becomes authoritarian/totalitarian and supports its even worse neighbour. So the cards are clear to read now: China hopes trump will not be president in 2020 and will do whatever it can to ensure that and keep the trillions it has robed from the US and Europe. And Putin will of course try stop Europe from supporting Trump. Hence Merkel now does what Putin wants and buys pull from Russia and drops swift and all that. But we're told DJT is the traitor. Right. Got it.
