Reuters: Canada's Trudeau expels two ex-ministers from ruling party in bid to end scandal
OTTAWA (Reuters) - Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Tuesday sought to quell a crisis that threatens his chances of re-election, expelling from party ranks two former Cabinet members he said had undermined the ruling Liberals.
Trudeau said former Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould and former Treasury Board chief Jane Philpott would no longer be allowed to sit as Liberal legislators. They were also barred from running for the party in the federal election this October.
The Liberals have been in turmoil since Wilson-Raybould said in February that officials had inappropriately pressured her last year while she was justice minister to ensure that construction company SNC-Lavalin Group Inc escape a corruption trial.

WNU Editor: This is not going to end the scandal. Many Canadians do want to know the details on why did Prime Minister Trudeau decide to intervene in a criminal case that the Attorney General said was closed, and was she removed because of her refusal to do so.

The country got MJ as he promised. His work is done and it is time for someone more mature to take over, but who. Not the PCs for sure but minority government would be good right now especially with the idiot in Ontario. Perhaps Trudeau will do the right thing and bow out but family tradition and all will likely preclude that. Now perhaps in a fit of desperation he did mention banning hand guns and that could go a long way.

Minority government is not what Canada needs right now. The deep divisions that the Trudeau government are implementing in this country have to be stopped. Their complete defeat is what they need.
In comparison to Kathleen Wynne and what her predecessors did by piling up $300 billion in debt for future generations to pay, coupled with their insane Hydro-One policies, I would chose Doug Ford any day.
As for gun control. Most illegal guns are now coming from the reservations. Let us see if the Prime Minister has the balls to stop that by raiding these gun shops.

Ford is a Trump wannabee. If you had teachers in the family you might not go with Ford. If you had kids in the family that were school age the changes to child care would change your mind on Ford.
Gun control. It was a cookie offered out of desperation. Because he delivered on MJ, perhaps the only reason he had such widespread success in the first place, there are a lot of people who would bite at that bait, if only to spite the US.
Although being a small amount, this will certainly appeal to many in Ontario, https://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2018/10/23/carbon-tax-rebates-canada_a_23569556/ especially those who are now paying the additional tax. Quebec of course, not so much.
On Wynne and Hydro. Why they give cheap and sometimes free hydro to Quebec and the US is beyond comprehension.
A friend of mine who worked for Ontario Hydro as a lineman etc. all his life told his boss that because his wife was in long term chronic care he was taking early retirement. The boss told him to hold on for a few months. Three months later an incentive early retirement program came out and he got a $250,000 payout to take early retirement. That was long before Flynn got her hands on it. Ontario Hydro has always been a plush cow for somebody or other. $300 billion is over the moon. That is the problem when you vote one out you never know what you will get (think Ford) but with a minority government, there you get some leverage.
