To be sure winning a war is a team effort and includes then top generals and politicians. But merely stating that something was won does obviate that fact that a team can win despite having under performing, poorly performing, or just outright bad players. FDR's generals pointed out that he was lengthening the war, but obeyed his orders and many more people had to die as the result of FDR's micromanagement.
Woodrow did not win WW1. The British blockade did that. The Germans were beaten before the Americans entered the war. All they could hope for is a better negotiating position.
But in the meantime we had to suffer under Woodrow, Creel, The Minutemen, and the beginnings of the fascist, totalitarian Left.
Oh and Woodrow helped set us up for Ww2, swell guy.

I meant that America's entry was not a necessary and maybe not a sufficient condition to win the war. I stand by that.
One looks at the food situation in Germany among other things to know that was true.
2) With a different negotiated treaty, you might not have the "Stab in the Back" meme started and/or gaining traction.
Most nation in Europe were spoiling for a war, citizens too, and they got it. The Versailles treaty made legal that which was not historical. It made Hitler possible. The weak man Woodrow made it possible.
